Most of what goes wrong with a QR code happens after it is made: it is printed too small, its margin is cropped, or it points at a redirect that stops working when a subscription ends. These guides cover that part. Measurements in them come from this site's own encoder and scanners, and figures from standards bodies are cited to the source.
Yes. Generating and scanning QR codes is completely free, with no account and no watermarks. The limits are technical, not paid tiers: a code from the single generator holds up to 1,273 bytes, and a bulk file up to 50 rows. The site is supported by ads.
No. Both the generator and the scanner run entirely in your browser. Content you encode and images you scan are never uploaded to any server.
Never. Our codes are static — the content is encoded directly in the pattern, so they work forever without depending on our servers.
21 content types: links, WiFi, WhatsApp, Telegram, vCard and MeCard contacts, email, SMS, phone, location, calendar events, social profiles, Google reviews, app downloads, SEPA and UPI payments, PayPal.me, Bitcoin, Ethereum, FaceTime, and Skype.
Yes — drop the screenshot on the page, browse for it, or paste it with Ctrl+V. The camera scanner works too, with your permission.
Yes, with care. Module shapes, custom eyes, gradients, logos, and frames are rendered with error correction level H, and a built-in contrast check warns you before a design becomes hard to scan. Square and rounded modules are the safest; test dots and decorative shapes before printing.
Yes. The barcode scanner reads EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC, Code 128, Code 39, ITF and ISBN — and QR codes too, so nothing is a dead end. For EAN, UPC and ISBN it re-checks the check digit, which makes it a quick way to verify a printed code before a production run.
Yes. In Chrome or Edge on a computer, use the install button in the address bar. On Android, open the browser menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen. On an iPhone or iPad, open Safari’s Share menu (on iOS 26 it is under the ⋯ button), choose Add to Home Screen and keep Open as Web App on. Pages you open in the installed app then work without a connection; in a browser tab, only if you allow Functional storage in Cookie settings. The offline copy holds the site’s own pages and files, not the codes you make or scan (privacy policy).
